Best for
Men at Norwood 4 and above who need front-to-crown coverage rather than a crown patch.

What is included

  • Front hairline designed to your temple recession and forehead height
  • Graded density: light at the front, fuller through the mid-scalp
  • Bleached knots at the parting so no dark dots show under light
  • Two-unit rotation option so you always have a dry, clean one to wear

Bonded, cut into your natural hair and styled.

When a toupee is the wrong answer

We would rather lose an order than fit the wrong system, so here is where this service stops being the right purchase.

A full toupee is over-specified if your loss is confined to the crown. You would be paying for front-to-crown coverage and a designed hairline you do not need, and the larger bonded area means more adhesive, more sweat and more servicing. A crown patch is cheaper to buy and cheaper to run.

It is also the wrong choice if you are unwilling to commit to a hairline decision. A toupee lives or dies on its front, and the front has to be designed to your temple recession and forehead height. If you want something you can take off casually with no hairline to manage, a clip-in system suits you better.

Aftercare schedule for a toupee

The purchase price is only part of what you commit to. This is the servicing rhythm that keeps a toupee at the top of its lifespan range rather than the bottom.

Ongoing maintenance schedule for a toupee
WhenWhat happens
Weeks 3-4Re-bond and hairline trim. On a toupee the front is trimmed at every visit so the leading edge never grows blunt.
MonthlyBase deep-clean plus a parting check. Fixed-parting bases wear along the part line first.
Month 6-9Front refill and knot re-seal. Bleached front knots lighten with sun and need re-toning as well as refilling.
OngoingTwo-unit rotation review. Front-to-crown coverage sweats more than a crown patch, and a rotation is what makes each unit last.

Specification options for a toupee

Custom Toupee — questions we get asked

Toupee or hair patch — what is the difference?
It is mostly coverage. A patch covers a defined bald area, usually the crown or mid-scalp. A toupee covers front to crown and needs a designed hairline.
Can it be parted anywhere?
Only if you order a full-lace or multi-directional base. Standard bases are built for a fixed parting side.
Is human hair worth the extra cost?
For a toupee, yes. Synthetic will not take heat styling and starts to shine within weeks under Indian sun.
