These are the two ends of the base spectrum. Skin is the most realistic parting and the shortest-lived; mono is the longest-lived and the least convincing at a part line.

Choose by how you wear your hair. If you part it and people see your scalp, skin is worth the shorter life. If you wear it swept or textured with no visible parting, mono gives roughly double the wear for the same money and tolerates handling that would destroy a poly base.
